Replacing Shannon tube

Hi how is the tube fastened at each end?? When buying a replacement do I need to buy any jubilee clips aswel?

The Shannon tube is held on at the top by just by one bolt on the cars bodywork, at the very top of the black plastic housing as per first picture, the tube itself just pushes onto bottom of this housing and then the other end is also just push fit onto bottom housing on the car, some people just use cable ties on each end for extra security. Contact Jules on this site as he has replacement Shannon tubes, like the one in second picture, hope this helps.

I have ordeed a replacement 70mm silicone ducting pipe off eBay, I'm going to attempt it by taking out air filter housing and the access panel in wheel arch liner

Your Welcome Craig, also at the very front of the car underneath and just behind bumper and just infront of your front wheel passenger side is a black plastic panel held on with 5 screws, unscrew these pull down panel and it gives you good access to bottom of Shannon tube. Bit of WD40 and the screws come out easily.

Would I be better off removing the front bumper to do this job or is it simple enough to do without removing it?

Did mine just by removing the inspection hatch and the air filter housing, about a 10 minute job!

I put jubilee clips on when did mine but maybe not essential.

Thanks for the help guys I did this today as my new neoprane silicon hose arrived

very simple to do WITHOUT removing the bumper, there is simply no need to remove it at all ! My new hose was £8 delivered off eBay, new one at rimmers is £100+

and my new one will last forever not like the original

I was fitting the HID head lights which does require the bumper to be removed
