That Lidl stuff is magic - I first came across it in Austria - where it's a top seller due to it going down to -60 degrees C - I use it year round now - diluted of course in the summer.

Much cheaper than vodka - haven't tried it with tonic yet.

Thanks guys.

I'll go for the Lidl stuff, the warnings and -60 rating make it sound very good!! Plus there are a couple of Lidl's nearby.

The Asda stuff is only rated down to -5, which might not be enough if we get another severe winter.

Does Lidl always stock this or is it a 'special'? I can't find permanent stock listings on their website, nor a telephone number for the store. Want to avoid a wasted trip.

P.S. Many thanks for the pics Bill, very helpful to see the label!

You're welcome - I bought it when it was on special - although I couldn't confirm if they had either, just took the chance, but I'm sure they sell it year round.....

I will be on the lookout in Lidl but if not the pink screen wash in Halfords is fine as far as I am concerned; its got a tad more alcohol than the blue one so goes a few degrees lower. Cetainly I have not discovered any horses heads in any of my fleet!

Mind you it would be rubbish at -60! (If its that I am staying home to unfreeze my pipes and that is not a euphamism)

Well I went to Lidl but they didn't have any, it is one of their 'specials', but was told they should have soon fairly soon again.

I have decided to compromise, I have put in a very small amount of cheap stuff that I already had, and will replace with Lidl stuff when it's available.

My washer bottle was empty and clean, hence not wanting to put rubbish stuff in, but if I use all the rubbish stuff up then the tiny residue of rubbish stuff left shouldn't cause any problems.
