Default Space behind tourer bumper for cam query please

Hi guys, I seem to recall someone fitting a reversing camera between the parking sensors some time ago but I cant find who..

My question is does anyone know if there is enough room behind the bumper on a tourer to allow a camera to extend back by about 3" in the same place.?

Thought your help may save me pulling it all apart so this is purely a selfish request

Many thanks in advance...

Does anyone know if the rear numberplate lights are the same as the BMW ones? Because the company i used to work for are now importing a reversing camera with small integral numberplate light that just screws in where the old numberplate light came from.

Thanks Kandyman I shall do. I did the exact same install on my saloon after seeing Christophers post wired to an LCD mirror..

Now I have the tourer with high line TV etc I intend to keep it all neat in the head unit.

Juzza0 that's very interesting will you have any pictures of it anytime soon?
I'm just waiting on the adaptor loom to be delivered...

Cheers for the replies good people...

I'm a bit miffed why you would need a rear camera as well as Parking sensors.
I find the sensors very accurate just on their own down to 6-8 inches!

It's just a cool feature to add, especially to the Hi-line screen... gizmo's gizmo's gizmo's!

Think a front one could be more useful sometimes,
especially with the low Bollards at the Airports etc.

I have heard that reversing out of some driveway in Wales can be a bit troublesome
