Red face Autoleads PC99X32 or PC99X04?

Hello,

I have just fitted a Alpine IDA X100 head unit.

Installation went well apart from I cannot get ther steering wheel controls to work.

I have a PC99 X32 fitted and have changed the patch lead to PC99ALP with out any joy. (The PC99X32 worked with my Sony HU and appropriate Sony patch lead, PC99SON).

Searching around I see there is also an unterface showing for the 75/ZT ref number PC99 X04.

What is the difference between the PC99X32 and PC99X04 and could this be the cause of my lack of steering wheel control?

Many thanks

Andy

The PC99X32 has BMW 17 pin connectors, the PC99X04 has ISO connectors and so are completely different, there is also a PC99X39 that has ISO connectors and a separate mini ISO.

Thanks Ray,

I'm now confused because my ZTT and the PC99X32 has ISO Connectors!

When I had an Alpine IDA-X001 i used a Autoleads PC99-X30 which worked great. I used to have a symphony setup with ISO connectors.

when i fitted the Alpine adapter fly lead my controlls didn't work either, I followed the correct set up but still had no joy. I found that if i pulled the jack plug out slightly it worked, I was certain the socket on my alpine was worn as it's a couple of years old but I have seen the same problem a couple of times now - worth a try
