The real issue in my eyes is why on Earth we have a road tax system based upon emissions of a trace gas (0.039% to 0.04%) essential for plant photosynthesis and ignoring every other emission.

Since you ask, the high earners/spenders do if you look at who pays the majority of our taxes (I assume these people would be categorised as "those in a privileged position" by most). The people who complain the most actually only pay a small proportion.

I am not wealthy nor privileged, but do like to recognize peoples' contribution to our collective welfare.
