So that's what Windermere looks like! As a surprise fifth wedding anniversary present for SWMBO, I booked a long weekend in a hotel in Windermere that promised lake views. As our anniversary is in February, all we saw was rain and mist. After walking around the town, and ending up like drowned rats, the jacuzzi in the en-suite was most welcome. Only problem was that when dining, the motors in the other jacuzzis could be heard from the rooms above. Which we both found rather amusing! We visited the Beatrix Potter house and museum too. But, thanks to the weather, we didn't see much scenery!
Lovely part of the world IMHO.
