Tony sorry to hear about the job.
The time you are committed is when you exchange contracts. In addition, you should not really feel sorry for the buyer - who knows, they may have pulled out - found another house etc. Or even done what someone I know had happen to them - on the day of the signing the buyers solicitor contacted the sellers to announce that the buyer wished to reduce the price he was paying! What does the seller do - pull out and go back to square 1 or agree to the reduction. You and your family must come first. Paul |

If you have a wife and kids Tony, seriously think about moving to NZ. The quality of life is way beyond anything we have here. My only reservation is that there is not much for a young man to do other than jump off or go sailing on stuff.
When I have a family, we're going over there where there's room for the kids to run around. |

Tony - I have some mates in NZ (Chris & Corinne). They emigrated there in the 90's and live just south of Auckland. They love it.
If you want any advice/info from them re jobs, costs, places to live, etc, let me know and I'll see if I can put you in touch. There are certain criteria that have to be met in order to get in. It can get a bit complicated so you need to talk to someone who's done it. Hth. PS. Chris is a motorbike fanatic. (Norton Commandos, Triumph Bonnevilles, etc). |
