Default Holiday pictures.

I've been on holiday in Cumbria for the last week, here are some pics.

We went out on a little motor boat we hired for an hour on Lake Windermere, 3/4 hour in, there was a crunch and a grinding noise and the engine revved up. Apparantly a shaft had fallen off a bit. That was a bit worrying, especially as we drifted toward the red buoys!

Wast Water was really nice,

Beatrix Potters house,

Can't remeber the name of this castle, but apparantly it was restored in the 17th century.

What have you done to the interior of your 75? Is this what they had in mind with Project Drive?

Some great pictures there Phil - looks a very tranquil part of the country. I see you had yourself a good time though.

Yeah it was good. My idea of a holiday. Chilled, quiet, peaceful.

Must remember to leave her at home next time.

Looks nice Phil. Possibly the next best thing to the Scottish Highlands. IMHO you can't beat the scenery on the West coast and in the Highlands. Not that I'm biased or anything!
We're going to Oban next weekend with our nephew and we'll probably nip over to Mull on the Ferry. Maybe even see a Sea Eagle if our timing's right. Not that it ever is mind you.

Beautiful Pictures Phil,

I would love to visit that Castle, any chance of some info for Location / Directions?

First thing that popped in my head when I saw the Boat Pic was the same as everyone else "What have you done to your 75" lol........

Gerfix, I am looking to visit the Highlands over the next couple of years, any suggestions?

Carl, the wife and I have been visiting the west coast for about 20 years now. Oban, Fort William, Skye, Mull, they're all excellent spots. Especially if you get the weather on your side. The Loch Ness area is beautiful too. Royal Deeside is nice - we visited a wee place called Ballater a couple of years ago which is on the doorstep of Balmoral practically and a stone's throw from Aberdeen if Mrs P wants a bit of shopping. Again, lovely area with lots of typical Scottish Highland scenery. Even if the weather isn't on your side, you can still enjoy the scenery. If you head any further north, i.e. past Inverness and up Thurso way, the scenery isn't quite so nice, more flat and definitely cold and windy!!

I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you decide to do though.

Try the Easybreaks website - they always have excellent deals. Our Oban trip is £144 for 2 nights for the two of us the kid is free. That includes dinner, B&B and a free bar from 8pm till 10pm. Great!!
