Default M42 Speed Cameras - Random Email

Just had this email sent to me from a speed camera website...

Quote:
Hi david,

*Re: M42 Junctions 3 to 7b Speed Cameras go live TOMORROW

As of tomorrow I have discovered that a new digital automatedtracking system between junctions 3 & 7b on the M42 is scheduledto go live. There are 276 Digital Cameras which have been set to 2MPHtolerance. You will not see any flash and the fine is £60 plus 3 points(which could add to over £250 / year to your insurance). This information comes to me on good authority but I must stressthat it is un-official. I hope this email saves you if you have to travel on the M42.

All the best,
I thought the speed cameras were already live!? I know it says unofficial but even so... a few years out of date! Are there any new cameras we should be looking for?

Stay within designated speed limits and safety cameras become an irrelevance.

Do try to, unfortunately there are ocassions where creeping over occurs, especially when overtaking.

My post was a bit tongue in cheek, hence the wink emoticon.

If this relates to the recently installed gantry cameras then these only come on when the speed restrictions are enforced. When there's no problems then as far as I am aware they're not in use. Obviously if I'm wrong and someone decides to try them out then tough luck if they catch you, but I've gone down that motorway many times in the early hours of the morning in excess of the speed limit and I haven't been penalised for it. Personally I think it's another one of these rather irritating emails that some saddo makes up to try and clog up mail routes.
