The Rover Rave/EPC would indicate that Traffic Master Does not work with Lo Line.

Well, after taking it to bits again I found the crimps were not seated properly, no wonder it didnt work
After wiring it up without a switch I saw TM I then put it together with the switch and headed off to the A1M and lo and behold I see the TM sign and a triangle appear as I approach the motorway. Now for the test results with Sat Nav working. It will not switch between TM and sat nav without complications After setting a route and switching over nothing happens. I have to go thru the settings on the stalk button to display a blank screen and then it takes a while for the TM to appear, but not always. The lady does keep on talking to me however  To switch back to nav I have to hit the stalk buttons again. I believe the TM would work as normal if I could somehow reboot it at will ie after I switch over from the nav screen. But the only way I can think of doing this would be to add another switch to the green/white wire, is this correct? One way I tried that did work was to switch off the nav altogether and then switch over. To use nav again it meant switching it on and resetting my last route, not ideal but it did work. |

Right that makes sense and I had expected it might work like that
i.e to refresh the screen you need to page it with the stalk button I think that is a fair compromise. You should not need to reset the TM unit I expect if you leave it at the blank screen it will display again as soon as it is triggered by another road side unit I have noticed mine blanks if there have not been any received updates after about 7 minutes |

Cheers Keith. I think I'll leave it as it is and use it the best way I can.

I've got it sussed how to use it best now. Basically TM is left on all the time. When I need to use sat nav, I set my destination and then switch over to TM. Whilst on route I have the benefit of TM and if I need sat nav on the way or certainly when I get to within a few miles of my destination I switch over by doing the following. Flick switch to sat nav, turn on sat nav, press the big button a few times and the lady/display guide me to my destination. I can do this now without really taking my eyes off the road as it always shows the last destination set when I turn it on. Pleased with it really
