Was the SLE Mod ever factory fitted or was it dreamt up by some clever person with too much time on their hands?

it's one of them things that's on my wish list and i keep forgetting about it and buying other stuff

I got round it by fitting a harman kardon rover sub box and alpine amp for real bass! I have some pictures if your interested!

Ive just found these pictures.You have to dismantle half your car to fit it but its ok to do i would expect the saloon is ok to do too. all the wiring etc is in the boot no wires to run just splice/solder heatshrink into the loom. sounds very good. Used an alpine sub amp and since then ive upgraded the sub speaker for one from jl audio.
