Default Diesel Clutch Life?

Dr Dave has just fitted full new clutch to son's 54 ZT 135 at just under 154K miles. Not bad I thought.

That's pretty good. I got 130k out of my '05 CDT Classic and it was still on the original clutch when I sold it after 5 years (owned from new)

Default Diesel Clutch Life

I got 156,000 on my clock and can find no record of previous owners having a new clutch. At present is working fine but should I be preparing to get a new one?

Worse case I've come across is 60k, mine's currently done 80k on it's second clutch but the hydraulics are starting to show signs of perishing.

When I sold the 75 with 85k on the clock it was still on its original clutch, but I think the hydraulics were starting to exhibit early signs of failure.

Usually hydraulics which fail first unless Car is subject to heavy traffic (not in these parts!!) or racing starts.

~Jules Tip ~
No need to touch the throttle on a diesel until clutch pedal is fully released.
Go on try it!
200k miles should be possible if above practice is used.
