HELP! Saloon Boot issue!
Hi all,
Hope everyone is well. I'm after some help and advice, again an issue with my central locking, but this time with my boot. Car is 2005 MKII 2.0cdti saloon. Basically, the boot wont open either off the remote button on my key or off the switch inside the car. I access the emergency pull from inside the boot, and one open, suddenly all is well again for a little while. I leave the car for a bit, come back to it, and cant get into the boot again via either remote or switch. I have lay inside the boot and moved all wires I can find and repeatidly pressed the remote button to see if there is a broken wire somewhere, but I cant get the solenoid to mumer a peep. Once I pull the emergency release catch, then the solenoid works straight away off both the remote and the switch! I'm going on holiday in a little over a week, and not being able to open the boot without emptying it via the back seat will be a nightmare. Can anyone advise please? I will travel with the car to anyone who thinks they can possibly sort it out, and will pay for time and parts. I just cant have a boot that I cant open for my holidays! Many thanks in advance. Richard

Hi Richard,
I'd start by cleaning and lubricating all moving parts. Simon

Hi Simon,
I removed the latch / solenoid and cleaned and lubed it. But sadly still the same.

I might be able to make Sunday.
Not sure yet as I'm working Saturday and Sunday was prepping my caravan which is in storage. Thanks Steve.

I cant make either Saturday or Sunday to the Nano unfortunatly,
Would anyone have a boot catch / solenoid that they know is good which I could buy and pop to collect off them one evening ( I live in Derby, so relativly local ) or failing that if anyone would be willing to post ( obviously I'll pay for that as well ) Many thanks Richard

I should have one but I’m in castleford West Yorkshire. If you’re willing to come up I could help you fit it if needed.

might be worthwhile checking the BCU plugs behind the Passenger dash in case any damps got in.
