Maybe I'll not be able to better a V reg Club with 240,000 miles and holes where the taxi badge was for my £2k. But I don't think so.

W Reg CDT Club SE (Cowley car) in Wedgwood Blue with Unions with 124k on the clock and history (accoring to the ad) for £1995. Looks in good order in the photos, however it is a Club SE, so cloth seats.

Car is hopefully not too far from you.
Sadly even further than Messenger's. Love the Wedgwood blue though. But looking at that, the lack of leather (at that price) is more off putting than I thought though.

Done it twice? You advertised it in November last year for £2100 with 110000 on the clock and a new clutch.

That's 29000 miles in 9 months! No wonder it needed a new clutch.

Sturdy car for sure, but I think I'll pass on this one for now.

Indeed, the original advert is incorrect and would have been proven to be had a sale occured based upon that information, the mileage at the previous MOT on the 11/09/08 is recorded as 130970 and if I recall correctly it was showing around 134000 ish when I came about it,and 138677 at present so actually around 4677 miles on the clutch.

The original advert was not terribly well concieved at the time as the chances are it had already been sold to a friend of mine (which it was) and there would have been a further opportunity to discuss the car in greater detail.
I was also indeed selling most of what I owned at the time for various personal reasons that I would rather not go into on an open forum and probably did not pay as close attention as I should have.

Are you suggesting that I am a liar?

or

Have I just made a mistake on a posting?

After all I imagine that anyone considering buying the car for £2100 back then would have been most puzzled that the mileage was wrong by 20000miles as to what I had stated.

The opposite actually. I presumed you were telling the truth.

I have only the information you have posted to go on here - one advert from nine months ago and another recently. Both say recent clutch and there is a big difference in mileage - what would you think?

There appears to have been an error in the mileage posted, we all make mistakes. In any event that was over a year ago and would have come to light and been corrected had any body noticed at the time.
I am forever being asked to edit posts and thread titles to correct mistakes including mileage readings.
Let's just leave that one there please.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Okay, so we have established that Leather is a must have! The red one looks pretty well specced, but what mileage & history?

Anyway, I will keep an eye out and let you know of any that may meet your "specification".

BTW, just for info, Corin (Messenger) has a good reputation on here, and I think that is why GG posted to defend. HTH

I expect so too.

Unless it is cheap. Then I really don't care - but for £1995 on a W plate I'd want the works!

Dunno, only found it this evening. I'll let you know. Seems rather suspiciously reasonable though. I expect starship mileage or some category of insurance repair (or both) myself.

Thanks. I found this while looking through Autotrader (What have they done to that site? It is dire these days if I log on)
