Gave them a call - Sold already

It sounded very nice, albeit 170kish - which if supported by paperwork and lack of smoke and rattles wouldn't put me off too much.

What is this all about? (Found it a bit late to get over to have a look, but a £2k reserve, cat D 75 Club Tourer with 'ZT-T extras'?)

The ZT-T extras I think refer to the replacement tailgate and 18" Straights alloys from an MG. As a Club SE it should not have a leather interior so I assume they are retrofitted as well.

With 2 close ups of a cracked rear bumper I would suspect it has had a rear shunt at some point and the tailgate was replaced with one off a ZT-T (so not really much of an extra).

The Cat D damage was all front corner so it can't be that which was what I first suspected.

The seats are definitely from a 75 though, not a ZT-T.

May be interesting, however I think a chat with the owner would be worthwhile. Has a tuning box (currently disconnected) as well so questions need asked.

Ooh, just noticed it says it has Xenons but no pictures to confirm. It also appears to have a ZT front bumper (colour matched inserts rather than chrome) so that was maybe done when the Cat D damage was repaired.

Go see it if it close enough. Ended without selling so give her a call (mobile number in answers to question).

Not too sure......

Me neither. Potential insurance hassles for sure.

Then when I see a Connoisseur 2.5 V6 for £990 I wonder about the benefit of LPG conversions... Or how much petrol £1010 buys.

Price negotiable means about 900 then. I assume it is 120,000 not 12,000.

Never the less nice car for that money, sat nav, power wash, reversing sensors, cruise, front fogs.......

You have to remember that you'll be paying far more than the £145 a year tax on a CDT diesel, for a V6 lump over the next few years unless you get a pre Mar2000 reg.

Yeah. The V6 doesn't make sense unless it is LPG'ed (and that is at least a @£1000 conversion I guess)

Next year the VED is £205 for all pre March 2001 75's and £155 for the CDT and £245 for the V6.

Has to be the CDT.

If your doubting Corin (messenger) any, He gets my thumbs up!, helpfull to the end when I had problems sourcing parts and a really nice bloke to boot. Wouldn't think twice about travelling 400miles to view a decent car if I was looking myself, at the end of the day you can just walk away if your not happy, but just letting you know he's a trustworthy guy and very knowledgeable about the make....... would be worth a trip at the price offered.

AND........... Good luck finding a good one, hope you get one soon.

I was not doubting him at all, we've had a chat about this over PM's, and it was just a misunderstanding of what he had posted about the car in the past.

As it goes it seems that there are actually quite a lot for sale out there and those that look good seem to be priced very close to what others think their sheds are worth. I'm going to look at a nice tourer tomorrow (hopefully). Only @10 miles away and at a dealers. Perhaps they would like some cashflow and take a cheeky offer.
