Diesel Auto 160 remap EGR bypass new intercooler hose new bosch MAF 180k 60% motorway 40% urban I never really get better than 36mpg and I drive quite sedately , in fact most of the motorway stretch I do is 50 zone ! So I suspect I should be seeing a bit better mpg.

Whats your engine temp like... if you are running cool the mpg will be lower

Something not quite right there. You should be getting around 40-42mpg I reckon if you drive that way. What is your thermostat like? Also, I get better MPG at 70mph then 60mph. I have checked it over and over again and that is definitely the case for me, so you doing 50mph is probably not doing it much good. Try driving a bit quicker and monitor it.

my auto saloon 75 with 160 map is averaging around 34mpg at the min. thats done brim to brim, and the car is at temp, had the the inline stat mod done, egr bypassed, pcv filter changed, and o rings changed.
i tend to do mostly short trips though, at least half of my driving is round town, and the other half is mway journies with cruise set at 70.
i thought id be getting more than this, but at least its better than my 190 was!! i used to average 23mpg for the same types of driving!!

I dont think this is too bad for an auto

Mine is a manual diesel, I've done all the things one can do:

Remap, EGR cleaned, O rings, new thermostat, correct running temperature.

I have regular servicing, decent tyres, etc.

My average MPG was still mid thirties despite all this.

I have tried various fuel brands and I even wax her regularly to ensure minimum wind resistance

In short none of this has made a jot of difference

Don't forget about tires. At winter setup - 195/65R15 mine car smokes around 1 liter less than at 225/40R18 + air cond. Another thing as few said before - making short distances means cold engine and usually webasto (additional heater) running. Mine 75 goes then even up to 10 liters/100km (28MPG).

I get about 34mpg in the ZT auto which is not too bad considering driving around town at 5mph.
Occasionally I get up to 20mph, lucky me.

But I do regular trips over to Torquay which is a 14 mile round trip, with about 5 mile of it being on a 50mph dual carriageway.

But I always have the aircon on and music playing.

Being a sad old man, I recorded my 75's consumption for over 3 years, using a simple spreadsheet. It was always done full tank (brimmed and everflowing) to full tank, and I made a note of any factors which could affect the economy, such as type of fuel, additives, type of journey, caravan or not etc. I would suggest the figures are about as accurate as it is possible to be for any one given car

Hopefully you can read the image - if you're sad like me and have nowt better to do on a wet Saturday afternoon
