I can get over 60mpg out of a 2.5 litre V6.
When I refuel and re-set the computer it is easily achievable, as I normally fill up in Shaftesbury (about 650ft above sea level) and cruise down the hills. The trouble is when I go back up it drops to about 27mpg. My last 75 was a diesel and, like the V6, I seem to get the figures as per the book. On the diesel it as nowhere near some of the claims made on here. Yes, I am sad too and log the fuel and mileage on an excel spreadsheet. Forget one off trips and what the computer says (unless you recalibrate it) and log it for a year or two. That will tell the real story.
