Default Wet back seat ...and rust!

Hi,

I've had my 2002 75 Tourer off the road for a good few months due to me trying to wire up a tow bar (long story!!)

I took the rear seat out to route the wiring and noticed a pool of water under the back seat.
I'm going to work through the usual suspects, side vents, trim, tailgate seat, etc.

Under the rear seat is a large diameter steel this tube on the right hand side, that goes from the front of the wheel tub and turn through 90 degrees into the seat base and is part of the body shell.

What's it for? Mine has literally crumbled with rust on the under side.

Thanks,
Richard
