2004 75 auto diesel 2l starts revs to 1500 to 2000 and then cuts out
Engine will tick over and rev up steady but cuts out around 2000 revs . I have tried a few things fuel pressure at the filter looks good.

Injector leakback sounds like the culprit.

One other thing it could be.--Low fuel pressure. As the engine revs up there's a slight drop in fuel pressure. If this drop is too much the ECU will sense this and cut the revs to a safe level.---

Thanks for the information I am going to look at the leakback tomorrow. I thought it might be fuel pressure but it looks ok is there any simple way to check it.

Another possibility is that the fuel pressure regulator on the high pressure pump is sticking
