Default 2004 75 auto diesel 2l starts revs to 1500 to 2000 and then cuts out

Engine will tick over and rev up steady but cuts out around 2000 revs . I have tried a few things fuel pressure at the filter looks good.

Injector leakback sounds like the culprit.

One other thing it could be.--Low fuel pressure. As the engine revs up there's a slight drop in fuel pressure. If this drop is too much the ECU will sense this and cut the revs to a safe level.---

Thanks for the information I am going to look at the leakback tomorrow. I thought it might be fuel pressure but it looks ok is there any simple way to check it.
Thanks again 😕

Another possibility is that the fuel pressure regulator on the high pressure pump is sticking
