You could indeed be right, either way its a really sad set of events and someone, somewhere should be accountable for what happened!

What type of punishment can the Courts give a "kid"?

He is above the legal age of responsibility (which is 10 in England) who knows what might end up? I mean there's nothing to say this has even done it. But he can't be sent to prison or young offenders as 14 is too young.

Not a lot I would guess, it is why parents should have a responsibility to their children!
I never realised it was a kid until the news announced it a short while ago.
Wonder what time the fire was started?
If it was late, how come the child was out etc.

It is often the case, that out of tragedy, comes something to restore your faith in humanity as a whole though.

Just taking a quick look at the JustGiving page.

The Manchester Evening News launched an appeal to raise £5,000 to help. So far, they've raised £334,280.12p! And it's going up by the second. At my last edit, it's now £347,541.11

A lady called Chelsea Norris aimed to raise £1,000. So far she's raised £29,874.12

"Canine World" aimed to raise £3,500. So far they've raised £10,013.93

The list goes on and on.

With obvious exception, we truly are a nation of dog lovers.

Edit: Forgot to add the link. Just Giving. For Manchester & Cheshire dogs homes.

Your Honour.
This child has had a deprived childhood and should be looked upon in a sympathetic light.
He did not know what he was doing and should be given another chance.

Therefore I suggest he be sent on an all expenses paid holiday with his parents to atone and reflect on what he has done, but first apologise to the good people who ran the home, and who had put so much effort into making sure these deprived animals had another chance.
I don't ****** well think so!! give the little *** a good hiding,
Don't really know what else to say if they put him away he will come out worse than when he went in, a sad reflection on our modern day society.

Sickening really but unfortunately it is a sign of the times, and what we refer to as justice no longer exists.
