Plastidipped 11 spokes
When I bought my car back in March, the alloys looked a little sorry for themselves and I wanted to give them a refurb.
I rang round a few prices for quotes and it was coming out a couple hundred quid so I thought I'd try something else. Plastidip. After a couple of hours rubbing down and some deep cleaning, I sprayed four coats of metallic anthracite onto my wheels. I'm really pleased with the finish. Long term, I'm gonna take the tyres off and put filler in the little chunks and use paint but I think this will certainly do for now. What do you reckon?

Wheels look nice! I assume it's a V8? As they are the only car allowed to have a duplex system...

Hey bud!
They're really easy to do, just takes a little time. 1. Take the wheels off 2. Use a powered detail sander (triangular shaped one to get into the nooks and crannies). 3. Very deep clean after, shampoo works well. Do as much of the wheel as you can (both sides). 4. Dry them off - run round it with a heat gun or hair dryer if you can. 5. Light coats of plasti dip (aerosol). Build up carefully holding the can about 25cm away. 6. Leave for 25 minutes per coat and repeat about 4 times. 7. Easily peel off any overspray that's on the tyres. If you've any queries do give me a shout. Just take your time and you'll get good results.

I spend about £36 on four cans from cardipuk and I already had the other bits. Nice cheap way to sort your wheels out.

Quote:
I sanded down mine good and proper and then mega dried them out with the heat gun. It's a temp fix but I'm definitely gonna do them again in this anthracite colour. Loving it!
