Are they fog lights though? There is some debate on where they are fogs or just running lights. Fog lights should be yellower, white and blue doesn't penetrate fog well.

The handbook describes them as fogs, the interior switch is typical of a Fog light switch. The fitment on my car is a H1 55W, this changes on some models to H11, dependant on what bumper loom is fitted.

In that case you are better off with the OEM bulbs in them. Its not the brightness its the colour. Im surprised yellow lights arent required by law, they are so much better in fog, and would solve the problem of people turning them on for extra light when they weren't supposed to.

The Fog bulb fitment I have performs well. I have only had to use them once for a bit of extra width. I drove across the A66 in Fog like pea soup.

Driving around with Fogs on when not needed, the drivers must be 105 years old or something.

Or chavs who like the 'look' of, in effect, 4 headlights (looks like a rally car.. init). That seems the most common abuse of fogs. There isnt much doubt though that while white light works in fog, yellow light is better.
