slave cylinder failure 3 times
Hi can someone suggest why the slave cylinder should fail 3 times i think it is on a mk1 rover 75 cdti connie , was done by professional garage who are used to doing clutchs all the time and they have asked me to ask the club for anwsers,is the freelander td4 slave any stonger and will it fit as the garage dont want to fit another luk slave again as they have only lasted for 3 moths at most .the car has had dmf and full luk clutch ect ,any one make a sugestion please that i can pass on,regards jondonwar

was the master replaced at the same time?

dont think the master was replaced, and i think it may have only been twice the slave was changed

im sure ive seen about here somewhere saying to change both at the same time due to contamination....but im sure someone who knows a tad more will help, im still on clutch cables...

Although they should be more reliable, maybe the driver sits in gear at the lights, instead of knocking it into nuetral, which possibly makes the slave hot and damages the seals.
