Question What to do. ????

Good morning everyone. I've just been offered a black '51 plate ZT-T very cheap. No tax or mot, had the head gasket done apparently and then the owner moved away so been left in his garden for about 2 years. As you can imagine it's very dirty and there is a bit of mould on the inside carpets but the owner says it will start and run. What else do I need to be looking for and checking. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks guys. Alan.

Well tyres will probably need replacing, brakes may be seized and or rusted, belt(s) might need doing depending on history and would help with the engine variant by the way

I imagine the cambelts will need doing, I think the price for it done is around £400 mark or if you are able to do it yourself it will be significantly less

1st thing is V6 don't have the head gaskets problems like the 4 cylinders so not likely HGF.

At that price you can't not buy it.
At the end of the day if its too much work to get back on the road break it.
I'm after some front springs if you do.

Keep us updated on what you do. Some pictures would be great!

Not as common, but they can still fail as some have, which if it has, you want to see proof of the cause being fixed, well I would anyway

All great advice guys, Thank you. I was thinking just buy at the price. Brakes I can do myself, belts? I would need to find someone to sort those. I'm going to see the owner on tuesday, he is coming down with the keys. I will try to get photos then and I'll keep you all up to speed with progress. Thanks again. Alan.
