In a boat? how do you get your car onto the boat and then how long does it take for you to row across? Some people go too far in attempting to save money! grant you it will be cheap?

(OED definition of a boat - small open vessel usually propelled by oars)

love my LPG, was at MGR Coventry and they were truly envious of the equivalent MPG i get from mine (40-42 MPG) and the lovely sound of the V6. LPG is 71p round here and petrol £1.36, so is a little over half the running costs + i never have to wait to fill up as i use Country Wide Farmers LPG with a billing account

Should be about 11% less than petrol?
Mine does 22mpg however you drive it...but then it only did 25mpg on petrol.. Makes the V8 look like a bargain to own and run....gas here is 70.9p....which helps..

If you are getting 40% less on gas compared to petrol there is somthing very wrong with the set up, I would suggest getting it to a LPG specialist to ensure it is running the right map and that there are no leaks and the filters are all ok.

I have been on LPG for over 100,000 miles and would recomend to anyone.

you do get a lower MPG on gas but should be by about 10%.

On my recent europe trip around france and italy in mine working it out brim to brim I was getting 30.1 MPG and I do not Hyper mile or do 56mph as I would die of bordem.

I have a 190 ZTT with LPG. I get the same as the previous guys about 42 to 46 on LPG but I mainly drive around London on petrol. I only really use LPG when on long runs. The reason being it Drives better on petrol and ticks over better in traffic

Well it must of not had the lpg set up right, thats if the lpg is to blame.

I have just had my lpg jag s-type 3.0 V6 moted and it passed with no advisorys. No bad for a car which has done 230k miles and has not needed anything for the last 10k. And this engine has soft valve seats!

Well you need to get it looked at then!
It should run the same on lpg as on petrol.

Sorry but I think there's a lot if ill informed opinions on here re LPG.

Let me share my own experience, based in fact of cars that I have owned. Long term.
My first rover 75 was a 2001 1.8 manual tourer. Bought at 18k miles, LPG professionally fitted at 58,000, cost around £1200. I worked out that I needed to do 16k for the installation to pay for itself. I sold the car to a mate at 175,000 miles who still uses it with no problem.it had a 100 litre tank in the spare wheel well, I binned the spare and carried a can of foam stuff. The car was totally reliable, I changed the £5 LPG filter every 20k, it suffered 2x HGF in this time but I reckon that would have happened with running petrol anyway. My gas range (admittedly mainly motorway commute and steady driving) was around 470 miles. Never any burnt valve issues.
My current car was bought last year with 38k. It's a 1.8t club se tourer auto. It had a brand new replacement engine at 35k so very low mileage engine. I had it LPG converted straight away and it's now on 51k. Again, no problems and it runs as well on LPG as petrol. I can get LPG for 65p per litre here and the car manages 380 miles on this slightly smaller tank. It's naturally a thirstier engine with turbo and auto box. If I drive steadily, It costs £38 to do the 380 miles, £20 to do 200 miles, £10 to do 100 miles etc etc, that's until the price goes up anyway! I've also got a 160bhp manual diesel tourer and can't achieve that kind of value of money. I would wholly recommend it but get a recommended professional installation done, with certificate, maintain the car well and keep it for the long term to get the best value possible. I don't know about v6 engines on LPG but don't discount a 1.8t. They go as well as the 2.0 v6, are refined and the worst case scenario is a head gasket, which costs the same as a a v6 cam belt anyway. Incidentally, there are some amazing 1.8 bargains out there too. You just won't find one with cruise unfortunately.
