Haven't checked the temperature but it's very sticky here.

Well, joined the digital speedo club, remarkably easy, took minutes. Only problem I had was loading the scanner software into my laptop, anti virus kept getting all hot and bothered, blocking some part of it as a possible threat? Downloaded it off the net with no problem.

All ready for the off in the morning, caravan all loaded, car loaded and fueled, just got to put final bits and pieces in the car in the morning, then its a 209 mile trek up North,I shall be travelling on A47,A17,A1 and A64 ,not a bad trip once you have encountered the A17 then its plain sailing all way until the Pickering turn off on the A64.

I expect once in Yorkshire a civic reception will be oranised for us by the locals,if not we shall get one on Sunday at The Lion for lunch.

All the happiness that used to be

Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

My daughter-in-law was brilliant when the grandbairns were in prams - if a vehicle was blocking the footpath - she refused to go onto the road to get past it - she would go and knock on the house door and ask them to move it
I had an argument with a delivery driver yesterday about this subject. He had parked his luton van on a blind corner, on double yellows, so far onto the pavement there was barely 2ft between it and the wall, and also decided to take up that 2 foot gap with his door while talking on the phone and sorting paperwork on the front seat. As I approached on the pavement he looked up saw approaching me and then proceeded to carry on with his paperwork no attempt to move out of the way. I had to go into the road (baring in mind this is virtually a blind corner on a major road) and as I went passed I commented "nice parking" to which i got a reply of "I'M F-ING UNLOADING YOU TW4T!" I pointed out he was parked on a corner, over double yellow lines and restricting the pavement for wheelchairs etc, which we have a lot of in our area. He carried on spouting abuse, luckily for him I was on my way to an appointment and couldn't be bothered to stop.

It would have been safer for him to park fully in the road, or even in the pub car park less than 10 metres away but he's obviously the sort of person that can do what he wants when he wants. Rather stupid thing to do as he's a local business so obviously doesn't want local customers.

I sympathise - SWMBO is still of the old school - she does point out people's selfishness to them, be it parking, barging through shop doors, jumping queues, chucking litter around - whatever. I do sometimes worry that one day she'll chastise the wrong person and violence will ensue
I, rather pathetically I fear, have taken the route of least resistance - although I did recently, at 5 past midnight one Saturday/Sunday, threaten to remove the lump hammer that someone was using on his van - and stick it down his throat. Funnily enough - it worked

If all you are going to wear is a cowboy hat I suspect you'll be chased by guys in white coats carrying a big net long before Steve arrives
