Sun has disappeared and can hear thunder in the distance. If it does arrive here it could be interesting, Pops has never experienced thunder, dunno if Suzy has either for that matter.

Update 1: Thunder is getting louder, Pops has just run into the garden to investigate!

Update 2: Thunder passed south of here but got a good hour of steady rain for the garden.

Default A postcard from The Cotswolds

G'day all - from the sun drenched county of Gloucester. We've been baked in hot sunshine since we arrived yesterday afternoon, after a dead easy journey with very little traffic. 60 mph, cruise control, and 29.7mpg - can't complain.

Had a quiet day today, feeling a bit tired after yesterday's journey, so nipped into Cirencester for a spot of lunch - found some good-gluten free food for the missus, and a nice 7oz steak burger topped with melted brie and smoked bacon for me. Just had a bottle of Henry Westons 2014 vintage cider (8.2%abv !) for tea (with cheese on toast, splattered with mustard of course) -the perfect day!
I'm pleased to say that George's mustard is thoroughly enjoy his holidays - he's especially looking forward to spreading himself over some genuine Cornish pasties next week
We're off to Bourton-on-the-Water tomorrow - a lovely little village, recommended by Derek - and I WILL be paying a visit to the model shop with the railway layout mate

Most prudent and wise of you to keep the window closed despite the good weather Ian. I found out today that last night, 3 of the farm cats out of 6 had disappeared overnight. They live in the stables and prowl / explore visiting the houses and the kitchens. Perhaps a leopard or a monkey came in from the forest for them, so as a precaution we are keeping the other 3 in at night. Have a lovely evening. Good luck at the vets tomorrow
