The thing you have to be careful with when it comes to alloy wheels is..............if they were tight coming off then they'll most likely be tight going back on due to corrosion & sometimes they don't bolt up flush even though the bolts seem tight & what happens is the wheel starts to move & cleans off the corrosion & comes loose.
Always make sure the spigots are clean & maybe apply a very thin smear of copper grease just to keep the corrosion at bay. |

And that's why I don't!!! My memory's terrible, but even sane people can make mistakes like this... a little distraction, and there you are.
I changed the front discs and pads on my M3 6 or 7 years ago, and noticed when driving a really weird rattling/pinging/tinny noise from the front of the car when driving. It was at night, but I couldn’t see anything obvious with the little BM torch. When I got home, I found the coathanger I’d hung the calliper from wrapped round everything, and catching on the disk. Fortunately, it hadn’t caused any real damage except for a few scratches here and there. In my defence, m’lud, I’d just lost my job and a pile of other important things, and was a tad on the stressed side when I did the job
