Those shelves with suckers are OK, until they give way in the middle of the night, especially when Ging decides they can hold large, full shampoo bottles etc. Had that happen a few times, sounds as if the roof is coming down!

These are pretty substantial - rather than just a 'push' to stick 'em to the wall, they have an offset sliding catch which really does create a substantial vacuum. I fitted one to my sister's shower last November and it's still in place. We got them from a place called Dunelm Mill - I don't know if you have one in Edinburgh ?
