Derek is right Richard, I lost my father when he was quite young and at the time I never thought I would never get over it but time heals all wounds to some extent. Happy memories of your father will always remain with you

It gets easier to deal with Rich, there are councilors, there are happy pills but in reality time is the only thing that helps. You don't forget what happened, it gets filed to the back of your mind but every now and then something will trigger the memory. I find silly things do it, something particularly funny happens or something good coming on telly and my mind automatically thinks "I'll need to tell Dad about that".

I know I will get over it in time, but today was hard as it was like the final closure, I handed the keys back to the landlord and walked away. I can only thank you all once again for the support you have given me during this difficult time. As I said in my thank you thread, it's amazing to think that a common interest in a certain make and model,of car, could attract so many genuine, good and decent people, and generate so many friendships.

Not long back from the cat rescue and we have this little bundle of joy just arrived

Just thought I'd share it to maybe bring a little smile as I know it's not been the best of times for everyone.....

Well - that's two thrids of the day successfully negotiated.
Done my jobs at the Club this morning, in preparation for the presentation evening tonight; Angela has come away from the hospital with a couple of advisories - but a pass; and I got away with only £2.70 in the Hospital car park (5 minutes leeway before it went up to £3.50).
Now all I need to do is have a shower, find a shirt that I can fasten the collar on, and get ready for a night out in male company - well - there will be a couple of ladies behind the bar
