It is 2 x mk1's for me as well. It seemed strange to me that a car launched with a retro style should end its days being modernised. I did like the rear styling on the mk2 but couldnt really warm to the front, although with the premium bumper they do look nice.

Mk1 on the ZT every time. In fact I would probably change the nose of a Mk2 to a Mk1.

I know exactly what you mean about the Triumph 2000 - the flattened off rear with the lights and number plate under the "lip" was a design "triumph" for me.

I had a Mk3 GT6 which had the same sort of treatment and I still say that car was probably the best looking car I ever owned. So sometimes an upgrade can improve things - but it is a rare event IMO

Mk 1 75 is in my opinion the better of the Rovers but I think the ZT mk1 or mk 2 are better than the 75 (and this from a a Triumph man).

As a general rule I prefer Mk1s in both guises though I think the Mk2 ZT carries the facelift better than the 75. I don't dislike either though

It's the MK11 for me,it brought a freshness to the design which still belongs in the era of cars being launched today.

If you have 3x MK1 ZT's, does that make a MK3?

Cars have to evolve, its the nature of the beast, and for me I really like the more modern look to my Contemporary. It fits better with today's cars, and yet still has old school written all over it. It also feels somewhat of a hybrid between ZT and 75 as well, which made it perfect!

On the other hand, I have found myself also missing my MK1 Connie, but I wasn't into the diesel lump in it. Ideally, I'd love to have a second car - the opposite end of the scale to my late Contemporary - a nice early 2.5 Cowley car or at least an unusual Mk1 like the monogram I just missed that Andy had!
