Both sides are vulnerable. I had an issue in the past and contact cleaner fixed the problem so far...

Thanks for the advice, it's been three days since I took the connectors apart a few times and so far ... no airbag light
If it shows itself again at any point i'll get some contact cleaner and give them a good going over.
