The bed has arrived in 2 flat packs. One guy on his own, who was quite insistent in carrying it up on his own. He asked me to bring his drill and leave the rest to him, impressive.

When mum went to hospital yesterday with patient transport, the two ladies who brought her home had to carry the wheely chair up the stairs, as there's no lift in the building. I offered to help but they said they weren't allowed to let me, as much as they would have welcomed it. I did say who's going to know, and they said if I hurt myself they would get sacked. Red tape eh? Even though I'm used to heavy lifting.

Morning sun worshippers (or not, as the case may be).
... 'tis pretty darned 'ot up 'ere this morning, not a breath of wind to ease the heat.
SWMBO continues to make painfully slow progress with her dizziness problem. It's now over three weeks since she fell ill, and she is still having the odd dizzy spell - especially if she turns her head to the left or sits up suddenly

On a different subject - is it just me, or is there an increasing number of people who have a dog - and turn it loose in the back garden when they go off to work for the day?
Starting at around 8.00am, we get a more or less constant battle between local 'abandoned' dogs to see which one can bark the loudest - for the longest period of time.
I suppose it makes a change from one of my neighbours, who is convinced he's a motor mechanic, but has only one tool - a 5lb lump hammer.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!

Afternoon all, Been Waaaaaay to hot for me so I've been lying low.
The skies have darkened here & I can hear the patter of rain on the conservatory roof.
The thunderstorms have arrived right on forecast & will hopefully cool things down a bit.

This afternoon on WhatsApp, I was just chatting with Aunt Susie (photo) about my plans to visit South Africa in the autumn, she lives in Cape Town. I was telling her about my front teeth snapping in half and how it’s affected my self confidence. She told me how in South Africa I am not to worry, as it’s a custom when meeting people at parties etc, to kiss with your tongue sticking out. Gross or what!

Great pic Phil

The sound of thunder has sent the cats running here.

I threw some old bed sheets over the greenhouse yesterday to shield the tomato plants from the sun, They look a bit Heath Robinson but have done the job in stopping the plants wilting in the heat.

It's been torture for me today, the heat & humidity has/is horrendous & I've just had at least my eighth cold shower of the day, even Simon cat was stood behind me getting a cool shower

Thunderstorms are still rolling through here with thunder in the distant but no lightening as such.
