Only visited Bath briefly over 20 years ago, I found it to be a beautiful place, I shall have to go back for a proper look I think.

Outside of Bath, there is an underground lake and tunnels for exploring

Evening, things have been a bit complicated, hence my absence, all due to medications etc. I'm on statins, tried several and finally found one I could live with if I took a couple of paracetamol in the morning to help with the aches and pains side effects. Due to the liver complication I stopped taking the paracetamol but jeez do I suffer in the mornings, even my fingers hurt! Also been getting fearsome acid indigestion, eye watering, two or three times a week, probably due to all the bleedin' pills I'm now taking. My other half is on omeprazole so started taking one in the morning a few days ago, definitely helped, haven't had indigestion since. Now discovered due to my other issues I can't take omeprazole without seeking medical advice first . . . . ah FFS

Need to see the doc . . . . yet again

Anyone with a history of liver disease, should be on a fat free diet, sorry about that. It will help with the indigestion. You have to be so careful with Omeprazole. Whilst it is useful in managing acidity, it is not for everyone.

You know Steve how I am on Clopidogrel anti-clotting since the bypass, Omeprazole is contraindicated. The combination of the two, can lead to a stroke or a stomach bleed. Long term it can mask a stomach malignancy which is why anyone taking it longer than 12 months, needs to have Endoscopy monitoring. I know you have had many

I used to take it and all of this came to a head with the GI bleed in February this year. I am now on a much safer PPI proton pump inhibitor antacid called Pantoprazole, less harmful to my kidneys, liver and it is not known to cause a stomach ulcer. I back it up with Sainsbury's own make of Gaviscon, £5 for 500ml. Last night I had a drop of Champagne to celebrate my win. The first drop of alcohol since Feb, it tasted exceedingly good

That's right, you would need to check with your GP Steve, if Omeprazole damages the liver or not or interferes with your other meds....

A friend of ours living in Tunbridge Wells, had suffered terribly with a hiatus hernia and acid throw up badly after every meal. Last month she saw a surgeon and had her hiatus hernia repaired under a GA (a new treatment), using a minimally invasive camera. What the surgeon did, was to insert a ring of beads made from Titanium to tighten the non working upper stomach sphincter. One night in hospital and normal diet the next day. No more acid and no more anti acid drugs. We are happy for her.

If you can't take Paracetamol because of your liver, ask to be seen at the pain clinic for an alternative.

Take care Steve
