Question water in boot facelift model advice please

Hi all any advice i would really be greatfull, iv 1 inch of water in the rear boot where the spare wheel sits,no sunroof fitted and carpets dont seem wet , i just had a towbar fitted few weeks ago,and i only bought the car in august few months ago and i checked in the boot at the time of purchase and it was bone dry then, im wondering if the light unit was disturbed during the tow bar universal kit was fitted,please advise on where else apart from the rear light units could water be getting in.regards john

Hi

It may be worth checking the rear window seal. There is a howto here somewhere. You may need to give it the silicone treatment.

I recently has a light replaced. The side vents also tend to leak.

All are discussed on the forum.

Check he side trims are fitted correctly the fittings tend to become undone. Take a look in the boot and tighten up carefully a dab of silicone won't hurt on the fittings either

As an extra precaution swap over the light seals left with right.

Rear light seals are a common culprit,have a look at this.

Hi John.
Clean and then dry glue and stapple them as i did swap them over, clean the body work round where the light fits and smear with vasline and refit job should be a good one.
