Not Happy with brakes.
Hi all,
I've now had my 3 ZT for 8 mths now and from day one not been happy with its braking. Well today I had a look and was shocked at the inside face of the driver's side front disc, the outside side is perfect.

That's actually very common and not restricted to MGR.
Check the rears as well you may only find a very small contact area on the inside! |

Caliper brakes rely upon the pistons applying force against one pad, the outer and the caliper being able to slide to apply an equal pressure to the inner pad. If the pins don't allow them to slide as well as they should, then not much pressure is applied to the inner surface. That results in the inner surface of the disk suffering corrosion.

That's what mine look like too - braking is less than perfect, and I have an awful screeching too (it's not metal-to-metal contact, I suspect it's due to the 'lip' on my worn discs).
Guess what this weekend's job is...
