Default air con -Kwik fit

I am currently sat in Kwik fit waiting for my air conditioning to be serviced. So far so good, no leaks detected and there was already some pressure in the system before they started. I wonder if the air con machine is more intelligent than some of these Kwik fit fitters. Anyway I am waiting for the machine to complete the process... I wonder if I will get the weather to use the air con, knowing the British weather.

£49.00. The fitter plugs the machine in and then twiddles his thumbs for an hour. The machine recovers any gas / oil, checks for pressure leaks and, if no significant leaks are detected, refills the system.

My Air con is now working great

Good luck with that!
Last time they did my air con, my low speed fan was not working and it overheated the ac and damaged my compression.

Hardly Kwik Fit's fault

Thanks to one of the T4 guys, I had the fan tested at one of the nano meets. My fan is the older 3 speed type and is working normally..... for now.

Agree with the weather. I have just had mine re-gassed after about 3 years of it not working and the weathers been horrible since

So all this bad weather is your fault then.

is it a rule of this forum that whenever anyone posts about being at / using Kwik Fit there has to be a sly dig or insult against them?

it certainly seems to be the case, however i hope you feel suitably superior to them by doing so

From my personal experience I took the car to Kwik Fit, they regassed the aircon and lost one of the valve caps from the engine bay, then told me it wasn't there to start with. As I understand it the machine they use is largely automatic anyway. I won't be troubling them again. Incidentally they tried to sell me tyres at the same time.
I went to my local ATS to get my tyres removed for a wheel refurb and they're knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me anything.
