ZT190 good choice?
Hallow all.
I'm not new to the MG-R family, having owned a Rover 200 BRM, a Rover 25 Derv and currently have a ZR 160 track-day toy... However it is time for a change in my daily driver.. I only do about 9000 miles a year... my commute to work is 90% country lanes and I want something fun to drive again. Economy isnt really an issue, however 30mpg on a relaxed drive would be preferable. also with the capacity to tow aroung 1500kg The ZT 190 seems to fit all of these requirements, and there are dozens around for £1200 or less I did consider one a while ago, but i talked myself out of it due to possible maintenance costs.. I am aware of VIS motor issues, cambelt costs, the plenum check and the clutch slave/master issues. Is there anything else that could put me off one? I have got to the point now where im thinking just buy one and enjoy it, and see how it goes! Sorry for the mega long post! |

A MG ZT 190, life's too short not to.
I think you are aware of the pitfalls, economy you mention is obtainable. |

I love mine, drives superb, comfortable, practical and you will always look back walking away.
It's big car compared with your previous so costs will be heavier for brakes, tyres fuel etc but you won't resist that V6 tune and smooth delivery. They are not fast like modern cars but more than enough and makes great GT car.

I've had 3 ZT 190s and a ZT180 auto and they are addictive! I won't have one as shiney as Pabs but if all the checks and jobs are done they are a cracking car.
Go for one but take your time and enjoy! |

do the v6's ruin their DMF's like the dervs.. or do they not have to be changed with the clutch |
