Default How to deal with Dog Hair?

Other than vacuuming the car every day how do you clean up dog hair??

The rear of the tourer is covered with dog hair, and whilst a good vacuuming cleans most of it up, some hair is still left.

Any tips on how to clean up the straggling hairs etc. ????

You could get one of those sticky rollers. I'm not sure what the proper name is, they are double sided stickey tape on a drum and you just roll it over hairs to pick them up. They are for clothes but you could use them on anything.

This is the sort of thing, when it's full of hair you just pull that layer off.

Tried them, they help a bit, but still end up with some hairs 'stuck' in the carpet etc.

brush attachment on a vacuum and a damp cloth. Start with the damp cloth, pulling it towards yourself, pick it up and then repeat, then vacuum with the brush.

The carpet as in the mats? If so you could try jet washing them.

No, the fitted carpet in the back of the tourer.

If it was the mats, then I'd just wash them, but don't feel like getting the carpet washer out for the back of the car (well not yet anyway )

if you have the washer, take the front seats out, and use it. It is so worth it! I did this recently and it really didnt take as long as I though (using a narrow attachment). The amount of dirt that came out was shocking!

The previous owner of my 1.8T had a mainly white Spaniel. I got the hairs off the seats but had to admit defeat with the hair woven into the carpets and called a valeter in. This is where he emptied his wet/dry vac.

That was over three years ago and even now if I remove a bit of trim there's a cloud of white hairs!
