Wired heating issue
Looking at getting back into a ZT, but the one I'm considering, 2003 1.8t, has an odd heating issue.
The current owner says at standstill the engine warms up to the half-way mark on the t-gauge and the heater blows hot. Once moving the temperature drops to the bottom end of the scale and the heater blows cold. He says he's been told it's the thermostat, does that seem likely? He's only asking £850 for an 82k car, worth a punt? |

That is classic Thermostat failure symptoms, personally I would plug and OBD reader in and see what the actual temperature is rather than rely on the gauge.
I did a Micra recently with exactly the same symptoms and a new stat fixed it. |
