I usually wave to other ZTs... sometimes I get a wave back. I used to wave to 75 owners as well, but never got a response back, so I don't any more.
Sometimes if it's a really nice ZT I'm so busy admiring the car that I forget to wave. |

I find that the best place to get a wave or sometimes a wee chat is if you bump into a fellow 75 owner in the supermarket car park. I will always start a conversation with a 75 owner if he is in his car, usually waiting for his wife?

As a long time owner of MG sports cars the wave comes very naturally and I seem to recognise other MG cars a long way of and wave in plenty of time, what i find is that 75 and zt are on you before you notice them and don't get a chance to wave. Probably there similarity to jags, bmw and others.

Like Bigcar says I always chat to fellow 75 owners in car parks and mention the club but I think the problem is that for most 75ZT owners they're just cars.
Having been given odd looks from other owners I've waved to I've given up doing it. A few months ago I followed a dark blue 75 on the M25 who was a member and we leap frogged a few times, we drew alongside each other and I waved - he just glared at me and carried on. Maybe he bought the car with the owners club sticker still on it. Perhaps we should introduce bright stickers to put on our cars front sides and back which means "Beware, I'm reasonably friendly and there is a danger that I might wave".

I did get a wave the other weekend, I was in Newton Aycliffe heading to Shildon when I had to stop for traffic to come round a couple of parked cars! It was another MG in Trophy Yellow (MGF) though..

Driving round through villages near Duxford on Sunday, I had to give way to an older gentleman in his beautiful blue tourer and I waved, but I think he was concentrating on staying awake.

I do it when ever I see a ZT or 75, But i seem to get the cold stare as to say, oh great a boy racer that's ruined the 75/ZT car.
Either that or there baffled by the colour combo and can't make out what it is. The only owner that got it right was in the Caenarfron area, straight away said nice 75, even tho with the ZT kit on it. How did you know i asked, its your chrome wing mirrors and strips. Good eye. Still catch up with from time to time in his Copper leaf red 75. |

First ever wave back today. Trundling along the downs road on the beautiful Smile of Wight, saw blue tourer coming up the hill, and waved, as I always do, and got a wave back. Saw four other 75/mg's today, no other responses.
