Default Remote Locking Problem

After standing for some weeks without use (lost my job and wasn't going anywhere) my battery was totally flat, I used my wife’s car to jump start mine and now the remote locking doesn't work. When I press the button on the key fob nothing happens. It’s not the battery in the fob, I have two fobs with new batteries in them and the LED lights come on when the buttons are pressed. The indicator lights do not flash when I try to set the immobiliser/alarm remotely only when I turn the key in the lock. Likewise, none of the doors attempts to lock when using the key fob.
I was laid off from Aston Martin in December so can’t take it to a garage.
Can anyone help? (Kaiser kindly offered help but I think that it is an electrical rather than mechanical problem)

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is a battery off reset again. Leave car for a bit with just the bonnet open then remove negative terminal of battery and leave off for half an hour, reconnect battery and try again. if you have satnav you must let this shut down before disconnecting battery anywy.

Sounds like the relay does not work/get activated. Are you sure the batteries in the remote are any good?

Does the door locking button on the centre console operate the locks? The reason I ask is that mine stopped working, I have speed locking enabled and as driving off I could hear the mechanism on the boot trying to lock but failing. The door locks also failed as did the remote, whereas the key did the job.
Pressing the locking / unlocking button in the centre console resolved it after two or three goes. No problem before or after.

Could be that the car needs re synchronising with the key, press either button four times in quick succession, on the fourth press the car should lock (or unlock, depending which button you pressed).

Thanks for quick response fellas. I tried raykay and Grey Ghost's fixes but neither worked. I'll tried Phils idea later and if that fails I'll get another new battery for the fob to be on the safe side, kaiser.
