Yesterday: new discs and pads on the rear. Had bought built up backplate / handbrake shoe kits but the originals were not worn much or corroded so decided to leave the hubs in place, adjust the handbrake, and keep the others as spares.

Also replaced all 4 brake hoses with Goodridge braided items, the old ones were just starting to perish. Then bled the brakes.

Today: washed the car and had the front wheel off again, this time to clean out the windscreen washer bottle filter. All now working correctly ready for MOT next Saturday.

Friday one. Swapped over the inlet manifold and EGR valve for some clean ones. Much smoother running now. Noticed the EGR vacumm solenoid bracket is looking rather 'past its best' so will have to get something sorted on that front at some point.

Hi Mike.
At sometime all these brackets fracture and break away from the part bolted to the engine, leaving the solenoid hanging with part of the bracket still attached.

There are a few ways to deal with it, a new bracket, if you can find one, bolt it to the fuel line, or make a bracket up, i already have a couple made up which i use at the meet.

I have seen them tied up like this one.
2

I removed the old section of the bracket.
3

Add this simple bracket.
4

Bolt to the fuel rail

Yesterday actually, took the car for a drive over to pevensea, to finally get an odd tyre changed, so I've now got all 5 the same, car back to running as it should, the electrical gremlins seem to have moved on to pastures new, as car ran very well, everything working as it should, even the air con, meaning that my car was ice cold inside whilst it was 20 degrees outside.

hi ryzard.hope your well. you could get your parts from tom. then get a local bodyshop to do the rest. It is the size and quality of the parts that are important , and a good bodyshop should be able to do the rest. might be worth getting the jacking points as well whilst your at it ...

Default Aircon Refresh, Plenum & Scuttle Panel Refresh......

.....plus a grubby drivers seat & carpet refresh.

Had to attend to the pollen filter as part of the aircon process so took the chance to tidy-up the very patchy & faded scuttle panel area. Looks much better now. Also gave the drivers seat & carpet a going over, the carpet came up a treat actually.

Last week l took the opportunity via the reduced OEM thread, to grab some aubergine cloth rear headrests at a very good price indeed. As l have an an aubergine/Sandstone mix l thought l'd see what they look like atop the original leather seats & l'm not disappointed with the effect, the speckle cloth is very nice.
The headrests are listed as tourer offside but are interchangeable with each other and saloons. And actually two of them are central Saloon with the recesses underneath for the mounting domes (which l wasn't expecting but was happy to find) however these will fit the outer positions with no problem, so that was a bonus.
