Nope not the police type. Rumours that the coins might be removed from circulation.

Would you miss them, do you still use them?

I can't say I would, I've no copper jar and pay for nearly everything on card/contactless.

charities may miss out ...lots of people fling them in the collection pots , after collecting change ..every penny counts.

Yeah ^this^ I have a biscuit tin and fill it with coppers, when it's full I take it down to the charity shop in town.
