It could also be the Rover P6 from the 70's

Sorry no its the outside handle but you are still right!!!

I never gave the black cab a thought but yes its mass produced in the uk It must be the only British mass produced car that still had push down handles in the 90s as by then most door handles were the flip up type if my memory is correct!

The latest cabs have flip handles and the one prior to that had chrome handles that pulled out or the button went in (not sure on that). However the model before that had push down handles :lol::lol:

Thanks so much I would never have got anywhere near the answer I think that the push down handles went out of production on London cabs around 1991 but that bit doesn't matter, all I needed was the vehicle.

Thanks very much I am going to enjoy this

Ken

Thanks to Raggity I did win the beer

It seems that the black cab still had the option of push down door handles right up to the end of the 90s but the standard cab had the flip handles.

Quite a few people put the mini and some went back even further. He was amazed that anyone got the correct answer and in the end there were two of us that got it correct. I said the black cab and the other winner put the London cab. He decided that we were both right and neither of us bought beer all evening

Its an off the cuff competition that we run most weekends where someone thinks of a very obscure question which can range from geography through to what year was a book published or even something like what was the cost of a unit of electricity in a certain year. There are no restrictions on how the answer is found as the questions are so obscure they are probably not even on the net. Its just a bit of fun between a group of us which is normally around ten or so.

Mostly the questions are never answered correctly by anyone and its just a bit of fun really. Its been going on for the last year and on average we all end up about even but its a good laugh and helps to make the evening.

One question I remember us all getting wrong was 'how many wheel nuts did a Thames Trader lorry have' most of us got the total correct but all of us forgot the spare was held on with a complete set of nuts as well! We have no idea if the chap asking the question has got the answer correct himself but it doesn't really matter as its just a bit of fun and the opportunity of a free saturday night session

If the 'winning' answer is later proved to be wrong then nobody cares and we do it all over again the next weekend

Just a bit of fun but its good to win

Thanks Ragitty
