Have a look through this thread here http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=1583 as this tells you all about removing your old dash and fitting the new one.

Where abouts in Surrey are you exactly as there may be a member local to you who is willing to help. If not then any ex-MGR garage will be able to help. Andy and Ralph over at Executive Motoring Services in Kent will be able to help you out for sure.

Don't frighten the poor guy off :xmas:

The walnut kit from the walnut Dash Co is just a straight forward stick on job over the climate / heater controls; stereo; window switches; and light switch module. No dash removal is necessary, although at this time of year (i.e. cold!) you may find it easier to remove the window switches in order to do them indoors in the warm. You just need to prise them out and remove the wiring plug from each switch.

Hope this helps,

Cliff

I was wondering if post #2 was correct, or whether the OP was referring to a WalnutDashCo kit.

Zola, perhaps you could clarify?

If the OP does mean the Walnut Dash Companies stick-on stuff then I stand corrected - sorry for any confusion

Hi Zola

Just go for it, it is relatively simple. If you use a hairdryer to heat the parts before you apply them then there is a little bit of movement allowed to align the parts correctly.

The only dificulty is with the foglights/headlights switch part. The cutout for the foglights seems to require to be enlarged a little.

In this weather, certainly best if you can get the car inside a garage.

I also definitely recommend adding a chrome trim around the window switches (Halfords £10.99).

I really like the effect, others are not so keen so it is down to personal taste.

Don't forget to post some pics once you have done it.

here's mine:

Looks good, Derek, and I echo your comments. I had some chrome strip left over after doing the door switches, so I also edged the 4-way flasher/lock switch panel..........

Thanks, I still have some left over as well and intended to do my locking/hazard switch as well. However, I did not get a great finish round the window switches as I put the join in the wrong place. I was therefore going to try re-doing the window switches (when it is warmer) and if I still have enough left I will do the locking/hazard switch (should look good beside the gear lever surround!).

Derek

Oh, and a Merry Christmas to everyone!
