I'm a bit puzzled. Is your quote from Tesco also for a 75 diesel auto which has been remapped?

The reason I ask is I use to be with Tesco for years, but when my 75 with the above spec. was remapped they refused cover so I chose LV = from comparison sites being the best of just a few insurers who were willing to offer cover.

If Tesco are indeed currently offering cover I will certainly try them next time.

Yes remapped to 160.

As it is under 11% increase apparently no probs. Apparently if it’s a ‘super remap’ then deferent rules apply!

Admiral told me this when I was with them a couple years back.

Also your other details come into the equation like age and location plus NCB.

Tomcat only has one year NCB and V8 has no NCB. I need to look at getting a multicar policy really!
If you go multicar watch out for only being allowed to claim NCB on the main vehicle. Also the other vehicles may not "earn" NCB.

Do a search on this issue as a recent thread explained what pitfalls there were,

I did not realise the 160 remap was less than 11%. When I tried at Tesco I told them it was 30 more than the standard 130 cdti which I took to be about 23%.
So, now I know why they turned me down.

Default Bit the Bullet

Tried SAGA who wanted to know the inside and out of a cat's derriere!!
Was the S/W change carried out by a Professional? Extolled the virtues of Phil-T4 now MOT Tester extraordinaire!!! Then wanted to know if it had passed an MOT with 160BHP. I remained calm and did not explode. Wanted £650 per year fixed 3 years.
Tesco not taking calls so online only. Did not want to get embroiled in explaining 160BHP.
Bit the Bullet haggled with Adrian Flux got £10 off so same price as last year.
Oh the virtues of living near Heathrow and inside the M25. UB4 must be a dodgy area.
Thanks for all your reply's chaps.
