Default I'm a petulant child

I'm not a young man by any means, so I really should be beyond sulking. I sold my beloved tourer a while back and since then I have watched my well maintained baby fail mot after mot on glaringly obvious lacks of preventative maintenance. Bald tyres with banding showing, failed lamps as well as more obvious signs of corrosion. I miss her. Since letting her go I have had a Skoda Superb elegance estate, Ford focus titanium x Estate and currently a Volvo XC70. All very nice cars but not..... well, you know. Out of the blue I had the chance to pick up a great 75 Saloon. I would have put aside my preference for estates. I could have got the 75 and rid myself of the Volvo in a heartbeat but due to where I live, distance and time constraints I have had to abandon the idea. I really should be past this sort of thing but I am so.......miffed.

Quite agree! No equivalent modern cars fit the bill.

Only the Jag X-Type 2.5 AWD came close in my opinion.

I've made personalised mods to every car since. Even getting back to Cream leather and walnut in the Volvo but none of them gain character. They are ok to drive, very nice in fact but I don't get the same feeling when behind the wheel and I rarely get the urge to look back once parked. The Focus got a backward glance from time to time but it was Race Red and collected a lot of admiring comments but behind the wheel it was just getting from a to b.
