Key Pad problem
The 'open' button on my ignition/door key pad has broken. The actual raised rubber part has disintegrated and simple disappeared leaving just a hole. Now I can only use the pad manually (what a fag) or press something into the hole to reach the remote switch.
Is it possible to replace just the entire top part of the pad? At the moment I cannot see how to open the pad up, does it slide or lever out? As I do not want to go to the big expense of replacing the entire key pad any helpful suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks. |

Insert a knife blade & twist, they separate fairly easy. You can buy new fobs but you must make sure you swap ALL the internals, especially the transponder

Key Fob problem
Thanks for your reply. Where is the best place to get a replacement fob? I must be a dum dum as my using a knife does not lever out the top for me.

Use a flat bladed screwdriver in the part where the key ring fits you will see a little gap, blade in and twist it lever it up. Remove key ring from the fob. 1 Flip over the fob so back is facing you. 2 Put flat bladed screw driver in the recess 3 Lever downwards with said screw driver. 4 Work your way round the key fob edge until the back comes off. 5 The key fob back should now be free. 6 Note the little transponder in the key back do not lose this if you are also changing the back of the fob this must be put back in the new fob back, a little blue tack will help keep it in place, of thin piece of double sided tape. 7 8 Good luck Arctic.

Better to obtain a new housing and transfer the blade and internals. Brian |

Not sure what the issue is as I have used them as they just replace existing and all seems the same to me.
However I have seen an alternative type that appear to fit differently and I agree may affect performance: https://tinyurl.com/yag89zz4 |

Re the transponder itself, how do you get it out of the old key without breaking anything?
Thanks |

Throw the water into the sink, retrieve the key back, and the transponder will pry out easily using a jewellers screwdriver. It's really easy to do Brian |
