The only real solution is to re trim the headliner.
I re trimmed my Zircon Silver earlier this year and re trimmed all four door cards as well. Ok I have already done two headlines on my SD1 Vitesse so I had a bit of “practice” but really it’s not too difficult a job. |

This may help
Must be the time of year! I posted for help on 18th regarding roof lining dropping in my 2001 Tourer and the thread can be found at https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=288213.
In particular I came across an effective full 'how to renew a roof lining' which is at http://forums.mg-rover.org/mg-zs-rov...roject-844786/ and covers the full process - worth looking at. In that thread some chap advised against trying to re-glue the old lining because it is thin and glue will show through as I recall. He advised buying replacement sheet which you can get with the foam lining on. I find there is quite a lot on EBay and you can order samples but I guess the foam on any replacement can 'age' just like the old one so I will be looking for something not foam lined , and thick enough for glue not to show through. I re-glued the leather on rear of driver and passenger seats a while back. I recall both had the daft decaying foam on - which I removed and then refitted using 'Stick2 Instant Contact Adhesive ' by Ever Build. Thios seems to have worked very well. I would be very interested in what other people have used and how the cloth on door cards has been removed / treated. All the best |

Door Cards
Thanks for that . Would like to know how you did the door cars - presumably peeled the material back to the door grip or did you cut it to fully remove it ?

After re trimming the door card and the speaker grille I reassembled them again using the soldering iron. The speaker grilles are of a different material but I used the same headcloth material and it looks fine. |

Fit a replacement it’s easy on a tourer.

But surely a replacement would be of a similar age and subject to the same breakdown in a shorter time than a renewed/new headlining would?
